Cat. #0019915112: ALICE PEARCE

Exceedingly rare vintage inscribed black fountain pen signature on a 4x5-inch green album page, acquired in-person by inveterate collector Howard Davis at Boston's Colonial Theater in the 1940s. In good condition. Note that the image of the star shown here alongside the scan of the autograph is not included. Parrot-faced, squawky-voiced bundle of killjoy Alice Pearce was one of the most memorable character actresses of the stage and screen, drawing laughs with mere sniffles, gulps or stares in films like On the Town (1949), The Thrill of It All (1963) and Kiss Me, Stupid (1964). She is best remembered as the Stevens' snooping neighbor Gladys Kravitz on T.V.'s horror-themed sitcom "Bewitched" (1964-1966), which she played until her tragic death of ovarian cancer at the age of 48.
